Tiffany Anderson | Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology
Hi, I’m Tiffany.
Many of my clients are looking for ways to strengthen their voices and develop a stronger sense of who they are. They tend to see themselves as outliers: the ones who count themselves out, or who yearn for a different life but can’t quite navigate how to get it. It can be so difficult to navigate all the various challenges thrown at us today, while also striving to discover who we are and what we might need to establish some sense of joy, balance, and connectedness. If we don’t have the tools or support systems in place to process these struggles, we can end up feeling isolated in guilt and shame. In our work together, we will work on developing greater awareness and self-compassion while stoking our imaginations to think of new ways forward.
I work with children, adults, couples, and families who seek support for a variety of issues, such as grief, anxiety, depression, burnout, trauma, and transitions. I work from an integrative, client-centered approach that is trauma-informed and rooted in empathy. I can use humour when the mood calls for it, but I can also be practical in crafting tools and techniques that people can use in their daily lives. Each session we spend together will be dependent on your needs in that unique moment of your life.
Together we’ll explore the following forms of treatment:
Internal Family Systems: working toward a state of self-leadership by meeting all the various parts of ourselves with compassion and empathy.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy: embracing the present moment as the first step towards meaningful change.
Narrative Therapy: exploration of how lived experiences shape our identities and collaboration to discover empowering ways to rewrite personal narratives.
Emotion-Focused Therapy: examination of emotional responses that stem from early attachments and the restructuring of those responses in current relationships.
Cognitive Behaviourial Therapy: navigating the thoughts and behaviours that influence our feelings and choices.
Somatic Interventions: connecting with the body to regulate the nervous system and gain a better understanding of how our brains, bodies, thoughts, and feelings are connected.
I can offer online sessions, as well as in-person sessions at our 19th Street office.
