Releasing Trauma, Anxiety and Shame with ART (Accelerated Resolutions Therapy) With Carissa
Spring cleaning for your mental health, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is a gentle, evidence-based approach that helps people release what they’ve been carrying from the past. Through guided eye movements and the brain’s natural ability to heal, ART allows difficult experiences to be processed without having to relive them in detail.
ART can be helpful for letting go of the emotional weight of trauma, anxiety, grief, and chronic stress. People often seek ART for support with lingering effects of accidents or medical experiences, childhood wounds, difficult relationships, phobias, panic, sleep issues, or memories that continue to intrude long after the event has passed. It can also help soften long-held feelings of shame, guilt, or self-blame that no longer reflect who you are today.
ART does not erase memories. Instead, it helps reduce the pain attached to them — staying true to its guiding phrase: “Keep the memory, lose the pain.” Many people describe feeling lighter, more grounded, and more able to move forward with ease and choice after sessions.
If you find yourself ready to shed what no longer serves you, ART may be a supportive place to begin, and Registered Clinical Counsellor Carissa would be honoured to support you in this journey.
