Welcome. I’m Elena (she/her), a counselling practicum student completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology.
I’ve always been drawn to understanding how we evolve, adapt, and move through life. Before beginning my counselling training, I worked as a change consultant in organizational settings, where I studied, supported, and became formally trained in change processes. Alongside that work, I volunteered with youth suicide prevention, advocated for improvements in healthcare, supported newcomers to Canada, and championed women in leadership. Over time, I felt a quiet calling to go deeper and work more one on one with individuals. As my own experiences of change unfolded, pursuing counselling began to feel like genuine alignment. Having lived and worked abroad in several countries, I also bring an appreciation for how cultural context can shape our experiences.
Change can take many forms. Sometimes change is something we long for, when parts of our lives no longer fit, when we feel stuck, or when we cannot yet see what comes next. Other times, it arrives uninvited through loss, illness, or circumstances we never would have chosen. I welcome clients from all walks of life and feel especially connected to work involving life transitions, grief and loss, and the emotional complexity that can accompany illness. I also have a special interest in women’s experiences, including fertility-related stress, pregnancy loss, balancing work and family, and menopause.
My approach is thoughtful and collaborative. Drawing from cognitive behavioural, psychodynamic, and solution-focused perspectives, I aim to offer a space where all parts of you are welcome. Together, we can make sense of what feels difficult and begin creating a path forward that feels clearer, steadier, and more hopeful.
I’m offering low-cost sessions while I complete my counselling practicum under the supervision of a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Approved Clinical Supervisor. I invite you to reach out if you’d like to explore how we might work together.
