Emma Hutchinson, MSW, RSW
Hello and welcome! My name is Emma and I offer in-person and online counselling services for adults and youth in the Comox Valley. If you process best on the move, I also offer walk and talk sessions.
My counselling approach is informed by several therapeutic models including Internal Family Systems and mindfulness-based approaches. This allows clients to address their concerns from a variety of angles depending on their needs and preferences. Counselling can include having therapeutic conversations which help you process and organize your experiences, learning tools to help with challenges such as anxiety or depression, and getting to understand and work with parts of yourself that you may find challenging or perplexing.
I have had the privilege of working with a diversity of clients in the social work field for several years including parents, youth, people in recovery from substance use challenges, and individuals who have sought therapeutic support around a variety of issues.
My top priority is that you feel you are in a space of compassion and can be fully who you are whatever your gender, sexual and relationship identities, ethnicity, culture, abilities, and challenges. I believe that possibility and potential arise when we are supported to tap into our innate wisdom, resources, strengths, and purpose.
I live in the Comox Valley with my two teenagers, partner, and our sweet dog and cats. I love to grow and eat food, play music, spend time in nature, and be with family and friends. I look forward to connecting with you!
